hand
Case 1: The patient underwent treatment for Dupuytren's contracture of the hand, a benign
progressive fibroproliferative disorder, which causes cords and nodules to form in the palm
and hand. The patient previously underwent excision of the
diseased tissue by another surgeon; however, as often happens in severe cases of this condition,
the contractures recurred and progressed. The patient is shown immediately before and
immediately after re-release of his contractures.
