What exactly is a facelift in Orange County?
In a facelift, age related signs on your face and neck can be remedied with a variety of facelift
procedures including the traditional method, neck lift, or a limited incision procedure.
The traditional procedure begins at the temples in your hairline, with the incision extending around the ears
and ending in the lower scalp, hidden behind the ears. Fat is repositioned or removed from the jowls,
neck and face. The underlying skin and tissue is also repositioned and the deeper layers of the muscles
are lifted. The skin is then re-draped over your uplifted face and any excess skin is trimmed.
Does a facelift stop the aging process?
Facelifts can produce a dramatic improvement in appearance for patients with the problems such as midface
sagging, deep creases under the eyes, deep creases between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), jowlsdue to loss of
muscle tone, sagging areas of fat, and loose skin and fat under the chin and jaw. However, facelifts do not stop the
aging process; in time, signs of aging can gradually appear once again.
It should also be noted that facelifts will not rejuvenate the brow, eyelids, nose, and some
of the midface. Patients who want to improve these areas may consider combining a facelift
with a brow lift or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).
Injectable soft-tissue fillers, facial implants and skin resurfacing can also enhance
the ultimate effects and appearance of a facelift.
Should I get a facelift?
If you have sagging in the mid face, deep creases under the lower eyelids, lines along the nose to the corners of
your mouth (called the nasolabial folds), displaced or fallen fat, or jowls from the loss of muscle tone in the lower
region of the face, or fat and skin deposits in the chin and jaw, then you may want to consider a facelift.
What is recovery from a facelift like?
After your facelift, also called rhytidectomy, Dr. Ng will wrap your incisions in bandages and
may place drainage tubes in the area. The tubes will be taken out the next day, when your hair
can be carefully washed.
Immediately after surgery, you may experience swelling, numbness, bruising, and a feeling of
tightness or tension in the face and neck. Your muscles in your face may feel stiff. Most of
these usually resolve within a few weeks, and sensation typically returns to normal within a
few months. Scars become less red, raised, lumpy or itchy as time passes.
What exactly is a neck lift in Orange County?
The procedure involves making an incision from the start of the ear lobe to the lower scalp going behind the ear.

Usually, scars are hidden under the chin or behind the lower scalp and ear.
What is eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty in Orange County?

upper eyelids. This gives our Orange County patients a younger look with a firmer eye area. You can opt for
separate procedures for either the upper or lower eyelids, or all can be done together.
